Never Give Up

In a week of amazing sporting achievements, and against all odds, Liverpool came from 3-0 down to win 4-3 on aggregate against arguably the best football team in the world, Barcelona, to reach the UEFA Champions League Final.

Apart from an amazing football match, one thing stood out for me. One player, Mo Salah.

Injured due to a head injury, he stood on the side lines supporting his team, wearing a top with the words "Never Give Up" on it. How motivational, not just for his team mates, but for everyone.

We all, at some point in our lives, feel low, that everything is against you. With many start-up businesses, for example, there is always that time when you aren't getting the breaks you want, and it would be all too easy to pack in.

But if you really want something, if you want to succeed, willpower, good planning, the right support, will win through. Never give up.

Liverpool wanted to succeed in that football match. They had the willpower to defy the odds. Good planning and good training as a team helped them pull through. Their amazing supporters, both in the stadium and watching on TV around the world gave them the impetus to succeed.

You cannot beat a person - or a team - that fights for what they want. And once you achieve what you want, however you got there, you will feel amazing.

The poet, singer, and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

So no matter how hard life is, and no matter how easy it is to give in, don't.

Perseverance is the key to success. Make yourself, and others, feel great.

Never give up.
