The health and safety of workers and the general public has never been more important as it is now. Everyone has the right to go home at the end of their shift in the same condition in which they arrived.
Regulations state that all businesses must have access to a competent person to enable them to meet the requirements of health and safety law.
A competent person is someone who has sufficient training and experience or knowledge and other qualities that allow them to assist you with your health and safety obligations properly.
I have twenty-one years’ experience in the health and safety field. Voted SHP IOSH Consultant of the Year in 2009, I am a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner (CMIOSH), and a Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM).
I hold a postgraduate Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management from Nottingham Trent University, and a Batchelor of Science Honours degree in Environmental Studies through the University of Sunderland.
As well as working through a continuous professional development, I also hold:
PTLLS Level 3 (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
HABC Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering
INLPTA Neuro-linguistic Programming diploma
Open College Network Mediation Practitioner's Certificate
NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
NVQ Level 3 Customer Service
IOSH Legionella Management
SFEDI Level 1 Award in Understanding Enterprise
With experience in the public, voluntary and private sectors, in service and manufacturing, I have the competence to provide your business with the professional service you would expect.
