Another year has started and, based on our experience, health and safety hasn't been as important to small and medium sized businesses as it is now. More and more business owners are doing what they should have been doing already, and taking it seriously. This has to be one major positive out of the pandemic.
But it's all well and good wanting to do more, but with that want comes the need to learn. And in north-west England there are plenty of ways to do that.
Firstly, KSH Safety Services offers over 100 online courses on health and safety, food safety, business skills and health & social care, all accredited to professional organisations such as CPD, IIRSM, IAPT, RoSPA and others. From later this year, some of the courses will also be approved by IOSH. These courses, provided through VideoTile Learning, are reasonably priced and give employers and employees the knowledge to start with health and safety management. With training you need a competent person. There are plenty of health and safety professionals with different specialities across the country who can help you, including us.
And there are plenty of health and safety organisations who offer online and hopefully later in the year face to face seminars and events. IOSH and IIRSM offer various seminars and events, and we have one of Britain's oldest safety groups in Lancashire.
Lancashire Occupational Health and Safety Group (LOHSG) was founded in 1930, and has been holding meetings and speakers online during the pandemic. It has just announced a programme of events for 2022 with some top speakers. And the best thing, it's only £40 for the entire year.
However you want to keep up to speed with the latest health and safety issues that may affect your business, the north west of England has plenty to help you.
