Two years ago today, KSH Safety Services was born with a single tweet and Facebook post announcing that I was taking the brave step in establishing my business.
At the time, with 18 years experience behind me, I was given the opportunity (and took it) to run my own health and safety consultancy and training business, and I am so glad I did.
It has been a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, but mainly highs (that are getting higher), and one which I have and continue to enjoy.
For anyone setting off into the world of self-employment - stay patient through the hard times, but always be positive. Success will arrive if you stay motivated and enthusiastic and believe in your product. Good luck!
KSH Safety Services currently works with companies and organisations in a wide variety of businesses, from offices, retail, manufacturing, engineering, construction, charities, churches, and the service sector. The business is slightly ahead of track with its original business plan, and the future is bright.
I could not have done this alone, and so it is only right and proper to thank the many many people who have helped me - family, friends, network groups and their networkers, those I have met on social media, in 1-2-1s, St Helens Chamber (for start-up and ongoing support, and for taking me on as one of their consultants on the Business Growth Programme), VideoTile Learning (for the e-learning courses), and above all my customers and clients across the UK. Two years is still a young company. A lot has gone on in those two years, but there is still far more still to come. Starting tomorrow, when KSH Safety Services will be exhibiting at the Merseyside Business Expo. I hope to see you there and say hello.
